LIEUTENANT KLEEBORT
Kleebort is the communications officer on the Supernova and ostensibly an expert in xenolinguistics. He's a Rigelian - basically a sentient, bipedal reptillian slug creature from the constellation Orion. As Rigelian culture emphasizes timidity and compliance, Kleebort tries his best to remain courteous and unobtrusive - to a fault. He often witholds vital information from his fellow crew members because he isn't sure whether or not they want to hear his voice. Innocent and naive, Kleebort is always eager to please and will joyfully do anything that is asked of him, even if he isn't qualified or has no idea what he's doing. Like all Rigelians, he is also an unabashed coward and will flee and hide rather than risk having a confrontation. This is aided by an evolved defense mechanism possessed by his species which allows him to blend into his surroundings like a chameleon.
